Endangered species are
living things threatened with extinction (the dying off
of all of their kind). Some of the earth's most
spectacular living things are endangered species.
The greatest threat to endangered plants and animals is
the destruction of their natural habitat by people.
Many countries have established laws and conservation
programs to protect endangered species and their habitat
(World Book, 2000).
Today, we are going to
research endangered animals. With the information
we find we will write letters to the local newspaper to
inform our community about the causes of endangered
animals and how we can help protect them.
