Interests My research is primarily in the application of computer
modeling and geostatistics to ground water problems. Several theses
under my supervision have dealt with ground water in coastal zones, where a lens
of fresh water overlies saline water. Modeling the development of this lens
requires accounting for density and permeability differences, making the problem
computer intensive and potientially numerically unstable. Other research
projects have studied the release of nutrients from home septic systems, the
migration of dense non-aqueous-phase liquids, and statistical analysis of
geohydrologic data. Closest to my heart is the study of water issues in poor
countries.
